Looking for an agriturismo in Tuscany with a pool, close to the sea, where dogs are welcome? Il Castagno is a country residence: an old Tuscan farmhouse, lovingly restored, on a hillside less than a kilometre from the medieval village of Campiglia Marittima and a few kilometres from the beaches of the Etruscan Coast.
Nine self-contained homes with a private garden, a covered heated pool and a spa. The peace of the Tuscan countryside is just the same; the services are those of a holiday residence rather than a working farm. And if it really is an agriturismo you are after, we have that too: our Glamping, with its lodges among olive and chestnut trees, just a little further up the hill.
It is the holiday-home formula: as independent as in your own house, with the added bonus of breakfast with Tuscan produce, a sun terrace with reserved loungers, the outdoor hot tub in summer, private parking and a coin-operated laundry.

Nine ways

Eight apartments and one room, all with their own entrance. Every apartment has a kitchenette and a private, fenced outdoor space with a barbecue, from 16 to 100 m²: a garden with a lawn for Quercia, Ambrosia, Iris and Fresia, a portico and a tiled outdoor space for Mughetto, Dalila and Ortensia. Artemisia, on the second floor, has a 50 m² covered terrace.
Superior Room

A double room with its own entrance and a private garden. Sixteen square metres given over to rest, plus a spacious nine-square-metre bathroom. The room is cleaned daily.

on your doorstep.
A self-contained one-bedroom apartment on the ground floor, close to the pool. The living room with kitchen and sofa bed opens onto a fenced garden with a lawn, one hundred square metres directly connected to the apartment: it is the only home where you step out of the door and are already in your own space.
Ambrosia

barrier-free.
A ground-floor open-plan space with a double bed, sofa bed and kitchenette. The bathroom with shower is accessible; a short path leads to the private fenced garden with its lawn.

On the ground floor, a one-bedroom apartment with a living room, kitchen and sofa bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. The private fenced garden, with its lawn, is reached along a little path.

On the second floor, a living room with kitchen and sofa bed, a double bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Its heart is a fifty-square-metre private covered terrace, with a table, lounge seating and a barbecue.

The apartment's fenced outdoor space is as much theirs as yours. All around there is an ancient chestnut wood for walks and, from June to September, a pool designed especially for dogs. They can go everywhere except the guests' pool area.

The residence sits on the Colline Metallifere, where the Maremma meets the Etruscan Coast. Campiglia Marittima is less than a kilometre away; by car, San Vincenzo and the Rimigliano Park are about ten minutes away, the Gulf of Baratti fifteen and the Sterpaia Park twenty. All around there are thermal baths, villages, the wineries of the Val di Cornia DOCG and mountain bike trails.
